Amelie Jones

Hey! I'm Amelie, a 17-year-old emerging young musical theatre performer. I moved to Australia from England in 2017 and have remained on the Sunshine Coast since & love it! I've done lots of amateur music theatre, including The Addams Family, High School Musical and Legally Blonde, just to name a few! I'm also an experienced musician, having played piano for over ten years, guitar for seven and lots more in the orchestra area. I've been singing for around four years now, starting formal classes at 13 with Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre in Noosa and also attending private lessons. I've also been dancing for a while, since I was around six in a town hall in with my local dance school in England, then moving on to school dance training in a range of styles, and lots of Broadway Jazz style training outside of school. Acting for stage and screen has also always been a big part of my life, and while I didn't start formal training until age 13, I did a range of talent competitions and workshops when I was younger. Instrumental music has always been my forte, (sorry, I had to) and I've been in numerous bands over the years, playing multiple instruments. Alongside being in many school bands, including Concert Band, String Orchestra, Wind Symphony and Rock Band, I've also previously trained with the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra, performing in both their Concert Band and Wind Symphony. I've also been in many choirs since primary school, and also been in many State Honours Ensemble Programs (SHEPs) in both the instrumental music and vocal categories, being mentored by the likes of Jason Barry-Smith and Jodie Lutherburrow. I'm also a music teacher in my spare time and am studying theatre at UniSC whilst completing my final two years of school. I also have worked on numerous student films and am an avid writer of both stage and screen. I've worked with some pretty cool people, such as James Millar, Natasha Veselinovic and Madison Thew-Keyworth, who have all mentored me in screen and stage acting, and also being behind the camera!
