I have a stronger purely musical background than most MT performers having played saxophone from age 9 before transitioning to guitar at 17, both of which I played in jazz bands alongside studying con students. I fell in love with the spontaneity and improvisation of jazz and regularly try to adopt these qualities into my life beyond music. I took an extended gap year after school to prioritise practicing guitar (while regularly practicing singing) in order to study it for my tertiary education until late-2025 when I shifted my focus once more to singing and the theatre. I believe that in order to become a great storyteller you must first become an excellent conduit of life, which requires wringing the world of experiences and consuming as much art as you can. So I decided to study English part-time at Macquarie University, partly for the simple pleasure of learning but partly to keep me in a space that would inspire my own creativity. Truthfully, my experience as a cast member remains at a university theatre level which I appreciate as a sandbox to experiment in ways you might otherwise not be allowed on grander scales, but I am eager and ready to go beyond. Until I am supported by an institution to focus my abilities I am my own propelling force, dancing, singing and acting wherever I can because sure, it's a lot of fun but it's also very important. You have a responsibility to the audience to put on a great show, not because they paid but because without them there is no you.
