About

My name's Chloe and I'm a proud neurodivergent performer, teacher and director. I am autistic and my life-long special interest is Music Theatre. My love of musicals as a child led me to study Music Theatre at WAAPA and absolutely bask in the wonder of Stephen Sondheim, Flaherty and Ahrens, Jason Robert Brown, and appreciate Music Theatre's beginnings with Cole Porter, Kurt Weill and Rodgers and Hammerstein. Upon first meeting me, I think most people would find me shy and pensive, but given the opportunity I would gladly have a passionate dialogue about my favourite productions of Company or JCS or Gypsy or Parade. I have amazing attention to detail and real grit and determination to make my performances the best they can be. I love exploring the meanings behind music and lyric choices and finding different readings in texts. Most of all I love how the unique expression of Music Theatre connects humans to one another through storytelling and music, helping each other make sense of our relationships and the human experience. After completing my degree at WAAPA, I toured with Brainstorm Productions in three different theatre-in-education plays (The Hurting Game, The Protectors, and Cyberia) in schools across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. I have subsequently gained a Masters of Teaching (Secondary), and had a short stint as a high school English and Drama teacher, but I now teach at a youth theatre. I am also a presenter at a local library for Rhyme Time and Story Time, which is a real treat. In 2025, I had the experience of producing and directing my first musical, a production of The Sound of Music, in which I also played Maria. It was an enormous undertaking and I was very proud of the achievement, not only as an actor but as a theatre maker, which had long been an ambition of mine.
