Claire Sutton

Hi! I'm Claire. I am originally from country QLD but recently made the move to Melbourne living back at home following some time overseas. After graduating from a Brisbane-based institution in 2020, I did some work around QLD before receiving a scholarship to attend the prestigious New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York City. I moved in Sept of 2022 and completed 2 years of study there, before extending my visa another year and working, and auditioning in NYC. My visa came to an end in 2025, I returned home to QLD and have been lucky enough to step back into our ever-growing theatre community here. I recently made my Empire Theatre debut as 'Anne' in &Juliet and it was such a privilege to perform in our country's largest regional theatre - also where I saw my first ever musical. I truly think the experience I've had the last 4 years have shaped me into the person and performer I am today. I learnt so much about myself and how much resilience a person can have and I believe the hardships of living across the world from family, friends and everything you know, has bled into my acting and ability to inhabit so many different characters. I am so excited to start a new chapter in Melbourne!
