Connor Sweeney

I grew up in Tasmania and got into performance through watching Lano and Woodley, Jim Carrey movies taped off the TV, Andy Griffiths books, Monty Python vinyls and the Three Stooges. As a kid I did gymnastics, martial arts, diving, dancing and a bunch of other school sports. I stick with gymnastics to this day. After an unsuccessful audition to one of the big schools, I gave up on an acting career and started on a secondary ed teacher degree but was convinced to audition for the new course that had opened up at Griffith University. I was accepted into that course and graduated in 2014. Since then I have moved to Melbourne and have worked as much as I can in stage and starting to get into film. After getting into clown and the teachings of Phillipe Gaulier, I dreamt of going to his school in France and in 2024 that dream came true after receiving a grant from the Ian Potter Cultural Trust. Now that I'm back I'm very keen to apply what I've learnt in new projects.
