Dinesh Mathew

Dinesh Mathew is an Australian stage and screen actor whose career spans theatre, television, and commercials. He trained as a singer-actor-dancer at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) before continuing his professional development at the Actors Centre in London, building a performance practice grounded in versatility, character work, and strong comedic instincts. Across theatre, Dinesh has performed a wide range of musical and dramatic roles. His recent stage credits include You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Snoopy) at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Theatre Company’s Cybec Electric production Love and Reparations, and Not Finished With You Yet. Earlier theatre appearances include Once on This Island (Papa Ge), Horror of the Inch (Midsumma Festival tour), and several new-work developments and workshops. On screen, Dinesh is a familiar face to Australian audiences, with appearances across numerous acclaimed television series. His credits include The Clearing, Wentworth, Utopia, The Slap, Neighbours, Newton’s Law, Sunshine, and The Ex-PM. He has also performed leading and featured roles in international and Australian commercial campaigns for brands including Centrum, Open University, Fiat, Target and many more. Known for his adaptability and grounded performances, Dinesh moves comfortably between comedy and drama, often portraying warm, intelligent, and character-driven roles. In addition to acting, he brings strong movement ability and physical confidence to his work. Dinesh is based in Melbourne and continues to work across stage and screen productions throughout Australia and internationally.
