Emma English graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz and Contemporary Vocal Performance. She performed as the lead vocalist, singing the National Anthem at The Australian of The Year Awards Broadcast on ABC, in 2024 and in 2025 she sang back up for Dami Im (Canberra Arboretum, 2024-2026). Emma also performed alongside John Foreman, The Seekers, Dami Im and Casey Donovan at the Award Nominees lunch at Parliament House (2025-2026). She began performing in community productions with a highlight being her hometown’s production of ‘Bungendore’s Tribute to Sondheim’ (2022). Her recent roles include ensemble/cowgirl in ‘Footloose’ (QP, 2023), ensemble in ‘Spamalot’ (Free Rain, 2023), Kylar in ‘Bring It On’ (Canberra Philharmonic, 2024), ensemble in ‘American Idiot’ (QP, 2024) and ensemble in ‘Nice Work If You Can Get It’ (QP, 2025). Emma has performed in multiple Cabaret shows with Templo theatre. She previously danced in a competitive troupe team and completed RAD Ballet Exams with consecutive distinctions. In 2025 she performed in the competitive ANU Cheer and Dance teams. Emma has taught dance and musical theatre, also running her own singing teaching business.
