Freya Griggs

Hi my name is Freya Griggs, I am 18 years old, I live in Brisbane and I am a musical theatre performer. Ive trained for all of my life in dance, from the age of 3 starting tap classes, then going into ballet and jazz, training pre-proffesional in ballet and contemporary at Classical Coaching Australia from ages 11-14 and performing in multiple ballet and contemporary productions, and ever since I continue doing ballet classes as well as musical theatre dance classes, heels, jazz, contemporary and ensemble classes. I fell fully head over heels in love with musical theatre at 5 years old when I watched Matilda the Musical in London on Broadway and ever since I have aspired to one day stand and perform in front of an audience. I have been a part of multiple on stage productions including school musicals/plays of Charlie and the chocolate factory (Veruca), Strictly ballroom (Fran), and Midsummer nights dream, as well as learning music through high school and drama as subjects. Additionally I have attended a year of Pre-tertiary at QAEMT, as well as multiple workshops with the CON and performed with Queensland Musical Theatre in Sound of Music (Louisa) and more recently A chorus line (Maggie swing and ensemble). Additionally I have recently attended singing lessons as a focal for this year training with Christen Bowen and Jacob Bradford, who additionally have guided me in acting through song. Ive always had a creative spark often feeling like ive lived up in the clouds in different worlds that ive built in my head, often writing my own songs and singing them at the top of my lungs climbing trees in my childhood home or writing stories and articles of all things that I was passionate about, one thing that has always inspired me is to change the world for the better and to treat Mother Nature with kindness beyond words. I have always dreamed of being so many things in my life, a writer, a singer, a politician, an actor, a cruise ship dancer, a journalist, a marine biologist, a zoologist, however nothing has ever been so clear to me in my pathway towards my dream job of performing musical theatre where I can live so many different lives in different shows and characters, I can live in all sorts of different worlds, where my creative mind can become them.
