Hazel Sofia Symonds

Growing up in a small regional town, Hazel Sofia actively sought out every opportunity to learn, create and perform. From the age of six, Hazel began training across piano, ukulele, singing, dance and acting, while participating in local theatre productions and performance opportunities. Her theatre credits include small scale productions of Annie, The Addams Family, The Little Mermaid, Les Misérables and Matilda the Musical, alongside training with RISE: The Performance Experience, Mildura Ballet and Dance Guild, DHPC, ZedGen Records and various performing arts academies. In 2024-2025, Hazel appeared on Australian Idol, auditioning at just 16 years old, and progressing all the way to the Top 21. Hazel works as a singing teacher, supporting neurodivergent children reach their goals as performers and people. Hazel has always had a love for musical theatre, and is continuing to expand her training and experience across musical theatre, contemporary music, acting and dance. Hazel plans on studying Musical Theatre at a Melbourne based university in 2027.
