Joseph Restubog

Joseph Restubog is an American-born, Sydney-based stage director, singer, and actor. His performance credits include principal roles in Company (Larry, David) and Plaza Suite (Jesse Kiplinger), as well as ensemble roles in Jagged Little Pill, 9 to 5, Songs for a New World, and A New Brain. Joseph has also performed in self-produced musical theatre cabarets. Joseph is an experienced stage director of operas and musicals with credits including La Bohème, Sunday in the Park with George, Tosca, Manon, Bonnie & Clyde, and the Australian Premiere of Mansfield Park. Joseph has also directed a livestream Zoom production of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost for Streamed Shakespeare and produced opera and musical workshops of Passion, La Wally and The Merry Widow with his Salon for Dramatic Arts company during the initial COVID-19 lockdowns. Joseph originally graduated from the Film and Media Arts program at Temple University in the United States and completed Ithaca College’s Opera Direction Certificate. In Australia, he has completed the NIDA’s Directors Studio (Stage & Screen) and has undertaken beginner-level dance classes (short courses and casual walk-ins) for various styles of dance including musical theatre, JFH, lyrical, contemporary and tap.
