Koert VanderLaan

Koert van der Laan is an emerging performer and musical artist based in Melbourne. He recently graduated from WAAPA with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. His time at WAAPA included many notable performances including the Australian premiere of Tivoli Lovely by award winning director and writer Dean Bryant, originating the role of Roy, and Merrily We Roll Along directed by Dr Tom Heath. In his own music, he has evolved from dreamy indie beginnings to full-throttle hard rock is as raw and unfiltered as his lyrics. With emotionally charged songwriting and an ever-sharpening edge, Koert has carved out a place in Australia’s underground rock scene, turning personal pain and reflection into cathartic anthems. While Koert is a singer, his experience extends far beyond vocals, with proficiency in bass guitar, piano/keyboard, strings, drums, and both electric and acoustic guitar.
