About
Hello, my name is Matthew Reardon and I have built a 15 year career as an Opera singer, Commercial artist and Musical Theatre performer. I graduated from WAAPA, The Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts, Perth and The Dame Nellie Melba Opera Trust Program, Melbourne. And I have a Masters of Voice from the UK at The Wales International Academy of Voice, Cardiff. “Varity is the spice of life” and my ability to be a crossover artist makes me an in demand and unique performer. I can be seen “Masquarding” in the ensemble in ‘Phantom of the Opera’ on Sydney Harbour (HOSH). Wowing audiences with my High notes as an Italian Tenor lyric Voice in the roles of 'Pinkerton' in Madame Butterfly and ‘Don Jose’ in Carmen with Opera Australia. Or pirouetting my way through ballet dancers as The ‘Tenor Solist’ in Verdi’s Requiem at the Adelaide Festival, a co-production with the Zurich State Ballet. I also have the ability to strip it back and play the supporting role of ‘Tony’ in Terrance Mcnally play “Masterclass” for the Ensemble Theatre. And I am not afraid of a TV close up, when I appear annually in ‘Carols in the Domain’ as a part of the ‘Young Stars of Australian Opera’. So, when I am not fully engaged on Stage, Theatre and Television, I am busy touring the country with my classical crossover group the “Australian Tenors” performing hits from classical musical theatre and Opera. This is my true passion, singing and performing for people, especially those in regional areas. Bringing the bright lights of the Opera House to the regions and being embraced and celebrated by small towns, is a personal highlight of mine!
