Michael Scott-Kahans

Dear Casting, I am a professional ballet dancer, with 4 years of experience performing with the Alberta Ballet company in Canada. I am currently a leading soloist dancer with the Victorian State Ballet. Alongside my performance career, I teach ballet, contemporary and jazz at dance schools across Melbourne. I am a versatile and athletic dancer trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, lyrical, acrobatics, world dance with strong partnering skills and experience with lifts. I am a comfortable performing physically demanding material, with precision, excitement, proficiency and consistency. I have experience working in an ensemble as well as leading roles. I bring strong musicality, performance quality, story telling and technique to my movement. In addition to dance, I’m comfortable acting and singing. I am an experienced and seasoned performer, having danced principal roles from the age of eighteen years old and in a highly demanding performance environment. I thrive in both featured and ensemble settings. I am well prepared for the demands of long show runs, maintaining performance quality, stamina, and professionalism across extended performance schedules. As a performer, I’m known for my strong work ethic, reliability, and positive energy. I take direction and feedback well, learn choreography quickly, and adapt easily to new creative visions. I am a supportive team player who contributes to a respectful company environment. I take pride in my physical conditioning and ability to perform under pressure.
