About

Michael Syme (he/him) is a Melbourne-based performer completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). During his studies, Michael has performed as a featured vocalist in Arts Centre Melbourne’s ‘Morning Melodies’ at Hamer Hall (dir. Jayde Kirchert), Charles Clarke/George Widener in ‘Titanic the Musical’ (dir. Tyran Parke) and Ensemble in ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’ (dir. Alister Smith). He has also performed in the Australian Musical Theatre Festival in Launceston as a featured soloist. Michael is excited to be concluding his studies this year in productions of ‘A Little Touch of Chaos’ (dir. Roger Hodgman) as Norman/Minister and ‘Legally Blonde’ (dir. Jason Langley) as Emmett Forrest. In addition to his work in theatre, Michael shares a passion for film and is eager to expand into the world of screen acting. When Michael is not performing, he works as a disability support worker, a job that is close to his heart and one he finds extremely fulfilling. Michael would like to thank his dear mother, without whom he wouldn’t be here today.
