About

A petite, pocket-rocket with "powerhouse vocals" has become a regular description of Perri's when she takes to the stage but something more than her craft has drawn her to apply for Matilda ... As a fully registered teacher, Perri has a deep appreciation for Matilda and it's messages for children and adults alike. Perri (Miss. E as the she goes by), knows how inspiring it can be to view the world through a child's eyes: the freedom in their imagination and creativity, their sheer curiosity and, what can seem like a child's unbreakable bond with their friends. Her students have always brought her so much joy but have also inspired her with their own fantastic thinking. She believes that learners, be it young or old, all deserve to be celebrated and respected for pursuing knowledge! That being said, she has also been preview to the trials and tribulations the school setting can bring for many students. Whether it be struggling to keep up with their academics or peers, bullying or simply feeling like they don't fit in, school can be hard and it is easy for students to 'feel small'. Perri's unique experiences within the classroom has allowed her to develop a strong connection to the story of Matilda seeing both the ups and downs of its characters reflected among her students and colleagues. Aside from educating (and occasionally getting mistaken for a student on yard duty), Perri is a passionate vocalist and story teller with a background in musical theatre who has always been drawn to the whimsical, the wonderful and whacky. Tim Minchin's comedic hits were staples of her teen years along with an eclectic array of music which has influenced her own vocal versatility. Perri has just returned home from her second Australian tour for 2026 as 'lead vocalist,' with a third tour secured for later this year. Perri completed her studies at Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music (Monash University) in 2021 studying a Bachelor of Music, specialising in contemporary voice, alongside her Bachelor of Education. She then furthered her dance training at Spectrum Global Arts, and now works regularly under the tutelage of Heather Fletcher, Peter Rutherford and attends regular dance classes in Melbourne. Thriving in collaborative environments and appreciating the value in thoughtful creativity, Perri utilises every opportunity to further develop herself as a wholistic and authentic performer. Perri would like to be considered for a role in the Ensemble. Please see attached CV for Experience & Credits.
