Peter O'Shea

Hi I would like to go for the role of Fiddler. I am experienced as an actor and also have had a long career in Celtic music hosting and participating in many sessions and I'd like to apply for the old guy fiddle player which they're always seems to be one in every session. I had a little problem downloading the CV so what I've got below hopefully fulfils that requirement. Peter O'Shea is a celebrated veteran of Celtic music in Australia. Starting with a full-time role with Bushwahzee in the mid-1980s, Peter has continued to be extremely active and was a pioneer in the early scene. He ran courses at the conservatorium of music at the University of Melbourne and also at the Victorian college of the arts. As a musician Peter has achieved quite a lot. He has produced three solo recordings available on Spotify and has guested on hundreds of others over the years. He has written three music books. He has held down many residencies at top Irish pubs and has always been busy as a guest player with other bands. As a fiddle player his work has been recognised with two golden fiddler awards. He has been in a number of successful bands and has been a successful solo player and a requested fiddle and mandolin player. He has supported international Celtic music artist such as the likes of Christie Moore, De Dannan and Nelson Mandela. He is currently working on his next recording project and is busy playing in a number of duos and guesting with bands. Although music has been Peter's primary focus he has also a lot of experience as an actor dating back to the 1980s in Steven Radic's Kelly film. He played the part of James Reardon in Ned Kelly which featured Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom. Recently he has played the role of the ghostly fiddle player in R.Johns Fire in the head at La Mama theatre in Carlton, and this year playing two parts as Lazarus and Simon the Pharisee with COG theatre group. He is very active physically, has a black belt in karate and moves well and is a youthful version of his current age of 67. He is reliable and easy to work with and has exceptional talents as a fiddle player, Musician and actor. He has an exceptionally professional attitude and has been regarded as being a great asset to any project that he has been involved in.
