Portia Jade

Brisbane/GC based performer Portia Jade started her training at Hinterland Dance Academy, performing at her local theatre 'Spotlight Theatre', and majoring deeply in the arts at high school. In 2020, she completed a Cert IV in Musical Theatre in her first year at the Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre. She then continued her studies there in the Performance Course for 2021, doing a range of professional shows, including Footloose, Spamalot and Sweet Charity. Over the last four years she has found a love for teaching and inspiring the next generation. She began working within the industry as a drama tutor for ages prep - grade 6 at ZigZag Theatre Company as well as a Singing and Musical Theatre Teacher at HIPA Studios. Alongside this she was working as an Entertainer at Dreamworld, performing Singing and Character Suit work. More recently she has spent the last 2.5 years in Melbourne, seeking more audition opportunities while continuing her work with students through Public Speaking and Drama as well as Private Singing Lessons. Her recent credits include, Sandy in GREASE, Featured Ensemble in WE WILL ROCK YOU, Wendy Jo in FOOTLOOSE, Alice in ALICE IN WONDERLAND THE PANTOMIME, Natalie Haller in ALL SHOOK UP, and Ensemble/Christine US in BE MORE CHILL. She has gone on to do multiple workshops in modelling, dancing and acting including; Sydney Dance Company and famous American Director Cinzia Coassin.
