Sophie Harvey

Sophie Harvey is an emerging, Scottish, Melbourne-based performer. Most recently, she performed as Lady Capulet in the Australian Shakespeare Company’s Graduate Players’ production of Romeo and Juliet. Prior to this, she performed in multiple productions of her self-written solo cabaret, Asexual Fantasies and Hopeless Aromantics. After debuting the show at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne, she reprised it at the TasPride Festival in Hobart, and then returned for a third time as part of the Midsumma Festival at the Bluestone Church Arts Space. Noticing a lack of aspec representation, particularly in theatre, and wanting to create something she never had, the cabaret explored Sophie’s experiences with asexuality and aromanticism, and how that has interacted with her life as a performer. Sophie is a Showfit graduate, where she studied musical theatre full-time for two years, receiving training from a range of teachers including Katherine Tonkin and Freya List.
