Sophie Maclean

I’m a Scottish (Glaswegian), Melbourne-based performer with a BA (Hons) degree in Dance and Musical Theatre from London Studio Centre. I have extensive training across ballet, contemporary, jazz, and commercial dance, alongside experience in aerial work (Lyra), which has developed my strength, control, and comfort with physically demanding choreography and working at height. Vocally, I have a natural affinity for both pop and folk-influenced music, and have experience with both legit and contemporary Musical Theatre repertoire too. I am a multi-instrumentalist, and studied both Piano & Clarinet at the Music School of Douglas Academy. I am also a past recipient of the Raymond O'Connell trophy for Solo Pianist at Glasgow Music Festival. I’m comfortable with improvisation, responsive to direction, and enjoy work that involves connection with audiences and strong ensemble collaboration. I bring reliability, focus, and a playful but professional energy to every project I’m part of.
