Thomas Pownall

I’m Tom Pownall, a Melbourne-based actor and musical theatre performer with experience across school and community theatre. I’ve performed in principal, featured ensemble and understudy roles, including Fiyero in Wicked, Sonny Malone in Xanadu Jr., Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd, Mr Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Mr Wormwood in Matilda Jr. I’ve also understudied roles including Robbie Hart in The Wedding Singer and Sky in Mamma Mia! As a tenor with strong acting and singing skills, I bring energy, commitment and a strong stage presence to every performance. I’m confident with choreography, character work, harmony singing, improvisation and script memorisation, and I enjoy collaborating with a cast to create engaging stories. What makes me unique is my versatility and willingness to take on different characters, whether leading a production, supporting the ensemble or stepping in as an understudy. I’m a quick learner, dedicated performer and collaborative team member who loves bringing characters to life on stage.
