About

Vi Lam, based in Sydney, is a passionate performer, intuitive choreographer and dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in the performing arts. He has honed a distinctive language in sculpting movements that interpret lyrics and resonate with the intricate nuances of sound, delving into shapes and textures. His collaborations span Opera Australia, Sydney Dance Company, The Australian Ballet, City of Sydney, UNSW Global, Bank of China, and Commonwealth Bank. His on-screen contributions include SBS' “I’m Not Gay” and ABC's “Significant Others”. In 2023, Vi was honoured with Sydney Theatre Award for Best Choreography in a Musical for his work on “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, presented by September Remedy Production at the Hayes Theatre Co. In recent years Vi has served as Co-director alongside Loredo Malcolm with LOcREaDO Dance Company. Founded in 2009 as a self-funded, independent platform, it became a creative hub where he has presented original full-length works like “Grounded” and “ARKITEKNITIANs”. The platform serves as a vital hub that not only supports his own projects but also offers emerging artists opportunities across various ventures from indie productions to commercial and corporate events, including high-profile functions such as the “HINO” and “Bresic Whitney Gala” events. In 2024, Vi completed the Australia and Asia tour with the acclaimed production of “Miss Saigon “as an ensemble and swing cast member. He was part of the creative team for “A Model Murder” with LPD Productions commissioned by Sydney Festival in 2025.
