William Abouhamad

My name is William Abouhamad and I am currently a Year 12 student at Oakhill College, where I serve as Drama Captain, a leadership role that reflects both my commitment to the performing arts and my investment in the theatrical community around me. Over the past several years I have developed my performance experience across a range of productions, working in both ensemble and principal roles in school musicals and plays. Most recently I have performed lead roles in Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead and Jersey Boys, where I developed my skills in physical theatre, character work, comedic timing and live performance under pressure. These productions have given me experience working across a range of genres and theatrical styles, from heightened physical comedy to dramatic ensemble work, and have sharpened my ability to adapt quickly, collaborate with a company and sustain consistent performance across multiple nights. Beyond performance, my study of HSC Drama has deepened my understanding of acting as a craft. Through the work of practitioners Jacques Lecoq, Vsevolod Meyerhold and Konstantin Stanislavski, I have trained in physical theatre, biomechanics, ensemble responsiveness and the disciplines of non-naturalistic performance, giving me a theoretical and practical foundation that informs everything I bring to a role. What makes me distinctive as a performer is the combination of genuine comedic instinct and physical versatility. I am drawn to character work that is specific, bold and grounded, and I bring a strong work ethic, a collaborative spirit and a genuine enthusiasm for the craft to every production I am part of.
